Dr. Marleen van Gelder is Assistant Professor in Pharmacoepidemiology at the Radboudumc and Researcher in Biostatistics and Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Oslo. Her research focuses on using observational data to gain more insight into the safety of medication use, in particular in populations in which trials are often not feasible (pregnant people, children). Her interests include improving exposure and outcome assessment, embracing longitudinal patterns, as well as causal inference methodology. She is currently chair of the Special Interest Group “Medication in Pregnancy and Lactation” of the Internationl Society for PharmacoEpidemiology (ISPE) and member of the Subcommittee on the Classification of Substances Toxic to Reproduction of the Health Council of the Netherlands.
